we are learning about Onomatopoeia. Our first language feature is ONOMATOPOEIA. Onomatopoeia is a word that describes a sound. ( boom, squish, thud, ). Onomatopoeia is used to put the reader in the place of the character by hearing what the character hears and feeling what the character feels. Onomatopoeic verbs can be strong action words which we learnt about last term. (thumping, booming, squishing)

The coach was saying to stand in their places. The coach put the whistle in his mouth. He got his starting gun and it went. BANG! It was really loud and it echoed through the Stadium. The runners zoomed onto the track from big to little. Like this BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!. The parents yelling go ,go, go... The seven-year-old kids started to huff and puff like this hhh... the coach was shouting and cheering for the kids.
